Announcing Upcoming Exhibitions!

Miami, Florida and Wellington, New Zealand! Oh… And Japan!

Announcing 2 upcoming exhibitions in Miami Florida, and Wellington, NZ! Whoop! Read on for more/skip to the next paragraph for exhibition details!

But first – see above – we did a family trip to Japan in October! It was sooooooo inspiring and if you want me to bore you with photos head to my instagram and check out all 4 (4) Japan highlights on my profile. In a nutshell – travelling with a 4 year old is wild, but far better than travelling with a 2 year old, onsen’s, sento’s and luggage transfer are life, Shinkansen are very efficient, I do not miss walking 20,000 steps per day or Combini breakfast roulette but I do miss Jumbo and Pino ice cream, as well as street snacks, ramen and sushi, petting cabybaras and chipmunks and hand feeding monkeys, vintage and kimono shopping and discovering shrines at night. Also, turns out we are a Disney family after all!
Tag teaming with Chad on parenting duties – I got to see a completely mental Samurai Robot cabaret show in Tokyo, experience a transformation into a Maiko geisha in Kyoto, and a workshop in Yuzen dyeing on kimono. So fun!

The Big Exhibition News:

Shows that are happening!

Shows that were cancelled 🙁

  • The Other Art Fair Brisbane

So, the original plan in Autumn of this year following The Other Art Fair Sydney, was to do their Brisbane fair in November (I sold my Oasis ticket and cancelled flights +Airbnb as they were booked the same weekend as the fair.) Then, the show was cancelled along with all upcoming Australian fairs (TOAF is still running in the US + UK).
I had been working on a series of mini native Australian flowers – teeny tiny 15x15cm and 25x25cm works, so that I could price them more affordably for all the friends and fam I was planning on inviting to my local hometown show. Here’s the series of minis, my feet for scale!

Now that this mini series no longer had an exhibition to be shown at, I wracked my brains for an alternative. A couple of artists at the Sydney fair had royally sung the praises of the New Zealand fairs – so I applied for a stand at their Wellington Fair in February and got in! This will be my first ever show in Aoteaora and I am soooooo excited! I get to fly over and man (woman?) my stand too, so I am beyond excited to meet the kiwi art buying folk in 2026! These works will be coming, as well as some larger flower works TBC, which brings me to the next thing I have been working on….

I sold my large artwork “FLOWERS ON YUGAMBEH COUNTRY vii: Rainforest” in Sydney, and so I wanted to create some more works at this large scale – the opposite of the minis. The work above is “Eucalypts and Corymbias” and below is “Aotearoa Flowers”, both 128cm x 88cm when they come back from the framer. I was loosely planning these for Brisbane and then Wellington AND then I got a DM that changed everything!
A while back I filled out an expression of interest ad I’d spotted on insta for potential residencies/exhibition opportunities at Mido Galeria in Medellin, Colombia – dreaming, obviously! Well, the director reached out of me and asked if I would like to take part in her show at Red Dot Miami during Art Basel in December! I leapt at this chance, and flew to finish both large works in time for the fair. Hence, I ended up with a third itinerary for last weekend – replacing Oasis Live, then the Brisbane Fair – I did my first night shifts in the studio in the almost 5 years since I became a mum – turning it into a party with music and ending with Oasis on spotify as they were simultaneously playing live 845km away in Sydney. These were my first 12 hour days since pre-covid – I am still next level tired this week but I think it was worth it….. Aotearoa flowers reveal video below in case you aren’t following my socials:

This year has been a lesson in trusting the universe to direct the flow of things when plans don’t always work out how you anticipated. I have always believed everything happens for a reason! I unfortunately don’t get to fly over to Miami, but I know I am in amazing hands with Mila at Mido Galeria.
I will share updates on both exhibitions down the line!

If you made it this far, you most certainly deserve a reward!
